A last-ditch stand by the Euroa Show and Shine to save the event has been wildly successful with over fifty people attending last night’s extraordinary meeting of the club.
A new committee was formed with Donna Carroll as President, Chris Pritchard Secretary and Andrew McGavin Treasurer.
Past President Ian Langlands will take up as Vice President.
A new committee of over twenty people was formed, possibly the largest contingent for some time, with nine women represented in that number. Donna Carroll will also be the first female President of the Euroa Show and Shine Inc.
Your new Facebook and Web page editor will be Belinda Pritchard.
IT WAS VERY APPARENT THAT EUROA WAS NOT ABOUT TO LET ITS PREMIER EVENT DIE!
Mr. Langlands said this morning that the band hall was filled with people, all of whom signed up as members of the Euroa Show and Shine Inc, and all positions on the new committee were filled. A further meeting will be held next month to formalize some of the positions.
Several experienced members are also included in the committee, and these will no doubt be acting as mentors for the newcomers, who will be facing a steep learning curve.
The bottom line will be that the Australian National Show and Shine event for 2024 can now take place on Sunday 6th October.
We will try to bring you up to date with further news as it develop.
Meantime, the ongoing support of our followers through these difficult days has been greatly appreciated by all.
